One last thing....

The 11th best team in the Southeastern Conference just finished somewhere between 5th and 8th in the ENTIRE NATION.

not sure.. we just looked like we were slow half court game.. not our style..

numbers looked bad.. 23 - 70 from 2, 2 - 17 from 3, and looks like franklin and snowden were 4 - 28..

hoops.. we agreed before, not having riley to sub, makes a difference..

next year.. we have a good group coming back, plus good class coming in..

the only thing is next year we will be on the radar, so we are going to have to really get tight in the off season..

just noticed 3 of the final four were there last year, just switched U of L for Baylor....

a thought for next season.. women's FF is in INDY.. a short drive.. just saying something to strive for..

Love this brand of bball that Mitchell's CATS play and very much looking forward to next year.  But Raggy is correct in that we will be hunted next year rather than being able to sneak up on folks.

F4 in Indy?  Think I will book my rooms next week.  It is always easier to find tix than rooms at the last minute.

Speaking of refs.... Did anyone notice we had Jesse Dickerson in each of the last two games? I was shocked to see the same guy doing too consecutive games for a team when they were in different sites. I know sometimes you get the same folks when you are in a single site, but someone flubbed that one up by sending him to a site where a team he had just officiated was at. DeMoss couldn't stand him it seemed when she was here at Kentucky, him and Roy Gilbuin (sp?) always seemed to be some of her least favorites.

In actuality he worked our first THREE games. He was pretty benign in against MSU and Nebraska but I don't think he made more than one or two calls against Liberty in that entire game. My friend who went with me who had not been to a game this season (doesn't live around here) even commented on the disparity in calls by him. And she knows her basketball much more than I do and is much more dispassionate (which I am certainly not).

My observations on the game last night:

1) Nyeshia Stevenson was John Wall in a sports bra.

2) The numbers finally caught up with us. We looked exhausted physically, which led to mental errors. The loss of Crystal to give Amber a blow really showed tonight. And Carly's absence did the same at the two. I really hope they have found out what her condition is. She looks like hell. No energy at all.

Great year. Congrats to all the Cats for their great effort all season!

Just back from Kansas City.

The Nebraska game was amazing and quite an effort.  In all honesty the game was over well before Nebraska even made their run there at the end.  We flat out spanked them.

Then came the Sooners, who have been coming on quite strong in the latter stages of the season, and is a 'been there, done that' powerhouse program.  I think we could probably name many things that went wrong for us, but basically it comes down to what went right for them as the reason we lost.  Stevenson(#1) was just unstoppable.  Someone called her John Wall earlier...understatement.  Wall only wishes he could turn in performance shooting wise as she did last night.  The girl played probably one of the best games I have seen a player play from start to finish.  I mean it was like there were 3 of her out there, scoring from all spots on the floor.  Oklahoma shot unbelieveably and better than they probably have all season.  Very tough to beat two top ten teams in a row, and both Nebraska and Oklahoma are legitimate top ten teams.

Pair that with our emotional/physical fatigue and you have a 20 point loss.  Shots that had fallen most all season simply were not.  Simply put, we were drained, and that's ok to admit.  But it gave us a taste of where we are heading.  Blame no one person on our team.  Everything was left in Kansas City and although losing by 20 was something we didn't want,I don't think it should cloud this season.  I can't believe how much every one of those players has grown this year.  The future is exciting, and I think this NCAA tournament just wet their appetite for more.

I personally want to think this team, and the coaches for allowing me to have the opportunity to gather with awesome friends and follow them throughout their journey.  I am truly grateful and can't wait for next season.  To the seniors--best of luck ladies, I love you bunches and wish you nothing but the best in all that you do.

I watched the game on tv and I would agree w/ jenjen assessment. #1 was just out of her mind. She actually has had an amazing tournment so far.   Good luck to the Sooners rest of the way.. but love my uk girls..
