You might also look at including Isabelle Harrison from Tennessee and Tiffany Jones from New York. Both are interior players to complement the group of guards coming in in 2010.

I like that name.  Let's get her!  We will have to fight hard if good ole Dawn is in the mix.

I think South Carolina is going to be a team to be reaconed with in the future with Staley and that staff she has.

Georgia guards are falling quickly - Andraya Carter to Tennessee, Briana Banks off to UCONN. Still leaves Marjorie Butler, yet another highly touted GA guard. Seems like she's looking at Georgia and Vandy and Kentucky. Don't expect her to make a decision too soon.

Add Michelle Woods to the 2011 list of possible suitors. The 5-foot-8 point guard is considering Duke, Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida State, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami (Fla.), Vanderbilt and Villanova....

Everybody is sleeping on Sarah Hammond, 6' 1 versatile forward from Rockcastle County. Why hasn't the UK coaching staff been more involved with her?

KentuckyAggie you are definitely right... She is about to blow up after the weekend tourney, because she is destroying everyone.

Bria Smith has UConn, Duke, L'Ville, Kentucky, and ND

Sara Hammond

One night shows Sara Hammond's potential. The 6-foot-2 junior forward from Rockcastle County had a rare quadruple-double in a game in late January.

Hammond, one of the top front-runners for Miss Basketball next season, scored 18 points, grabbed 17 rebounds, blocked 12 shots and grabbed 10 steals in a win over Pulaski Co.

"She's so special," Coach Chrysti Noble said before the Rockets advanced to the Sweet Sixteen. "She's unselfish and smart and just the perfect team player."

Hammond has offers from Louisville, Vanderbilt, Western Kentucky and West Virginia. and Kentucky has expressed interest. She averaged 15.5 points, 10.9 rebounds, 4.4 blocks, 2.2 steals and 1.6 assists this season for the Rockets.

The 6-foot-1 Hammond is considered one of the top juniors and a leading contender for Miss Basketball next season.

As a sophomore, Hammond averaged 10.5 points and 8.2 rebounds a game. She averaged 15 points and 10.8 rebounds and had 120 blocked shots as a junior.

Hammond helped Rockcastle County to the 12th Region title before it lost to Scott County in the Sweet 16 semifinals.

“She's just so good,” coach Chrysti Noble said. “She gets her points one way or another. She still has work to do, but she's a special player.”

Hammond had a rare quadruple-double this past season, amassing 18 points, 17 rebounds, 12 blocks and 10 steals in a victory over Pulaski County.

Hammond is considering Louisville, Western Kentucky, Vanderbilt, West Virginia and Kentucky.

Thanks Chatty for the article. I dont know how UK has expressed interest because her family says they havent heard a thing from UK. As far as I've heard its a three horse race between UL-VU-WKU, and she's a heavy UL lean at this point.

BTW, I'm not downing the UK staff at all, I'm just curious as to why they havent been on Sarah more, she seems perfect for UK's agressive traping defense.

I've heard she may not be the best fit for this program right now from some high school coaches.

April 20 -Isabelle Harrison, the 6-foot-3 post from Nashville, Tenn., told ESPN HoopGurlz her top four schools are Georgia, Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Kentucky. The Hillsboro High School junior is ranked No. 37 in the 2011 class by ESPN HoopGurlz.

I dont know if Notre Dame has offered for sure, but they are on her. UCLA has offered I think. Cant figure out what Kentucky is thinking on this one. When she is 60 miles away playing we will all wonder..... :eusa_wall:

Well I just heard some good & bad news on Sarah Hammond, apparently she was close to giving her verbal to UL until she did so well at this last tourney. Now she's hearing from ALOT of the big dogs and it appears she's going to enjoy the process for a bit before making a decision.

She has a lot of schools on her mind now but the two that stands apart are UL & WKU. However, ND & Stanford are two that quickly could become her favorite if they make a strong push.

Dont sell WKU short, she feels very comfortable at WKU as several members of her family attended WKU. She is also very appreciative of the fact that WKU was the 1st school to really recruit her, trust me WKU is a major player to land her services.
