Game 16: UK vs Tennessee
« on: Jan 07, 2009, 10:36:09 AM »
UK takes its 10-5 record into SEC play and Knoxville on Thursday. Tennessee is coming off a 20 point come-from-behind victory at Rutgers.
GO CATS!!!

I would really like to see UK go to Knoxville and pull off the upset. For some reason I feel like it could happen as long as the team does not get intimidated by the surroundings or get off to a bad start. Taking care of the basketball should be rule #1 against their pressure. UT showed great poise coming back against Rutgers this weekend but they are still very young. Very good but very young. Good luck ladies!

The game looks like it will be webcast on the UT athletics site. I tried to access a couple of videos from the site and my computer doesn't want to allow me access to the site. My computer keeps telling me that a pop up window has been blocked. I looked at my firewall security settings. I wonder if my settings are too high. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it. I would like to be able to watch at least a part of the game if possible.

Is it available for free or do you have to join their site?

I think that it is free but since the videos won't load for me I can't say for sure. If you go to the official UT lady vols site the game link is on the home page.

Astro, it's probably not your firewall. It's a popup blocker either on your browser or a toolbar you are using. For most popup blockers, if you hold down either Shift or CTRL (can't remember which so try both) while you click on the link, it should allow the popup. Give that a try.
GO CATS!!!

It's control if that's what the problem is.  You could also set it to where it allows popups from that site temporarily?

Just went to the site to hear Pat Summit's radio show. It was the pop-up blocker on the browser. Thanks for the info. I can now listen to the audio so hopefully I will see the website. By the way I just heard Pat's dog barking in the background. I wonder if there are more raccoons stalking Pat.

I would really rather listen to Neil Price but the video feed and our radio feed are not in sinc.

We really need to hit the chippies in this game. Hope we can stay close.

We need to do a better job blocking out on the boards. UT is doing a much better job of that so far.

Yes and it's silly mistakes killing us so far.  Bobbling rebounds, bobbling passes, missing layups.........and only down 8.  Should be up at the half.  They better be ready for pressure in the 2nd half because it is COMING.  Jackson has GOT to get it together or we won't be seeing any of her in SEC play.  Again too many turnovers that are not being forced. Just silly mental lapses.  Probably a little nervous.  Nothing to lose here girls, everything to gain.  Play hard and determined.......not nervous and timid.

I agree with everything you said. These Baby Vols are very good but not the Vols of the recent past. Without the mistakes we could be leading. We can play so much better. They are killing us on the boards and yes the pressure is coming. I would think we would be better handling the pressure since everyone is going to pressure us and we certainly know this going in.

I wish Mitchell had that frigging zone shoved straight up his butt.  It's killing us and obviously he just can't see that?

Need to hang tough. Roddy picking up her 4th foul early might hurt us. Morrow though is having a great game.

We have got to keep rebounding stronger like we have the past couple of trips.

I hope mitchell is ready to take responsibility for a poor decision to put us in a zone after each score.  Everytime we do it they pop a three.  That's just stupid because Buerklan and Stricklen don't miss open threes.

Oh well, keep up the intensity girls.

Yes but we are still in the game. Bett is doing a pretty good job in Roddy's absence. We still have a great chance of pulling off the upset.

Why zone when Bjorkland, Stricklin, and Manning are pure shooters?

Vic has missed 3 chippies in the 2nd half.
