Lauren Aitch a No?

Apparently, Lauren Aitch has removed Kentucky from her list of top schools. Her schools of interest are now listed as Auburn, Duke, Michigan, Michigan State, Syracuse, UNLV, Vanderbilt, others. And while UK could be included in 'others' it probably doesn't look good.

My predictions for 2006 class...

Based on nothing more than hunches, here's what I think may shake out for the UK women's basketball team for the fall 2006 class:
Kasi Galloway, Guard
Latoya Bullard, Point Guard
Marshae Dotson, Forward
and possibly one other recruit - maybe Sophronia Sallard. In the end, I think she'll wind up with a top 10 recruiting class but maybe a couple of spots lower than this year's freshman class - so maybe 8 or 9.

I think we'll sign four over all.
I still would love to get Ashia Jefferson. She's that big time poward foward that can really come in and help this team next season.
Bullard and Carly I think is a toss up. I would like to have Carly first since she is a Kentucky kid and a proven winner at a big time school, but Bullard might be the higer ranked of the two after the recruting list comes out.
Doston name came out of now where. Mike drop that on us, but from what I've read she is a top 30 recruit and it looks like we have are foot in the door with her.
Its going to be interesting to see how this class plays out. I think it will be Top Ten. I'm hoping on it and really expecting it. If its not I see it as a let down cause we have four schollys to give out.

I think I'd love to get both Bullard and Ormerod and have 3 point guards really battle it out for playing time. It seems like we're getting good guards/forwards/centers and they'll push each other along...now we need to heat up the pg position and we'll be set!

Let the Recruiting Begin

Kentucky landed a new recruit yesterday and it's a name I've not heard before - Shana Andrus 5' 10" guard, ranked by some to be the 18th best guard in the country, 127 overall. Herald Leader had a story about it
here
. Article goes on to mention that UK is a finalist for several Ohio seniors including Aisha Jefferson, Marshae Dotson and Star Allen 6' swing player.

Peck won't be one to go away as she lands LaToya Bullard, point guard from Memphis that had at least some interest in UK.

Based on incredible guesswork, here's the list of remaining possible recruits in order of our likelihood to land them:
Most likely...
Marshae Dotson
, 6'0 F, Columbus OH, Mifflin HS
Sophronia Sallard
, 5'10 SF, Syracuse NY, Nottingham HS
Star Allen
, 6'0 G/F, Columbus OH, Independence HS
I think somewhat unlikely...
Dewanna Bonner
, 6'3 PG, Fairfield AL, Fairfield HS
Aisha Jefferson
, 6'0 F, Dayton OH, Chaminade-Julienne HS
What do you all think? With three more scholarships to give out, who would you like to see us get from the above list?

I would love to see all 3 of the "most likely" gals that you listed. That group really shows some promise in getting UK into a running transition team.

And we've got only three seniors leaving after this year, so even though she's got 6 scholarships to give, with her three verbals she's keepting the team where it is in terms of depth. Granted, we may still yet get a couple more signees...I'm betting Sophronia and maybe Star...

So we've got three guards who have given us a verbal. Assuming the worst, that we do not get any other signees for this class, is it a top 10 class? I think they need at least one more - hopefully Star or Sophronia. I think Dewanna is more of a long shot since we've got Carly on board. What do you all think? As it stands now, is it a top-10 class?

I agree that maybe we need to get one more signee, but Kasi and Carly are ranked pretty high in the class right? So.. they may have a top 10 or at least 15

Mickie has assembled a great recruiting class and I expect her to pull in a front court player before this year is done. Regarding national recruiting classes:
Quite a few folks left to give their verbals, including the Paris Twins (wouldn't it be wild if they went to different schools). Also interested in seeing who lands Juanita Ward.
Right now, in no particular order, I think Cal, Texas, Duke, Florida, and Notre Dame have brought in solid classes. Cal and Texas are also in the running for the Paris Twins which could really put these classes into the stratosphere.

Kasi and Carly both are ranked pretty high Timbo. And in the end, it doesn't matter what the recruiting class is ranked - it only matters how they play once they get here. And that goes for this freshman class we're getting ready to watch this year too. And I agree that Florida is putting together a pretty good class - Peck will have a top notch program in short order.
The last I heard about the Paris twins - they were getting ready to make their visit to Cal.

Demetress Adams, 6'3" post player out of South Carolina, switched her verbal from Notre Dame to the University of South Carolina. A big pickup for Walvius.

Anybody know anything about:
Alysha Clark, 6'0 F, Mt. Juliet TN, Mt. Juliet HS AAU 16U All-America (2004), TSWA AAA All-State Team (2004), All-Region Team (2004), 20.5 ppg, 10 rpg.
She doesn't list any schools and I noticed she's getting talked up on the Vandy boards as being a big-time 'sleeper' in Tennessee.

Yeah, I think Walvius was glad to get her. South Carolina fell off quite a bit last year, but they could be another good team in the SEC with some successful recruiting.
